Equipment

  • Whisk

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla essence
  • 6 Egg yolks
  • 2 tbsp Water
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Milk
  • Pinch Salt
  • 1 cup Heavy cream

Instructions

  • Take a pan and place it on a stove on medium flame.
  • The first step includes the making of caramel.
  • Add sugar and water to the pan and swirl the pan without stirring.
  • Cook this mixture until caramel is formed.
  • Now add heavy cream to this mixture.
  • Whisk it until it gets mixed properly and combined well.
  • When a creamy caramel is formed completely, turn off the flame and remove the pan from the stove.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes.
  • Now take a glass bowl and put six egg yolks in it.
  • Add sugar, a pinch of salt, and vanilla essence to the egg yolk, whisk it properly and mix well.
  • Now add milk to this mixture and mix it until it becomes thick and combined well.
  • Transfer this mixture to a glass jug.
  • Take ramekins and pour this mixture into the ramekins.
  • Now, place these ramekins on a tray and pour boiled water around the ramekins in a tray.
  • Place this tray in an oven at 150 degrees Celsius for about 50 to 60 minutes.
  • Another alternate method for making this caramel custard is the stove method.
  • Add hot water to a pan and place it on the stove.
  • Now place a pan stand over the pan.
  • Take ramekins and cover them with Aluminium foil.
  • Now place these ramekins on the stand, cover the pan with a lid, and cook it on a low flame for about 45 to 50 minutes.
  • Now, after baking or cooking, let them cool at room temperature.
  • After this, cover the ramekins with plastic and refrigerate them overnight or at least 4 to 6 hours before serving.
  • Now yummy caramel custard is ready for serving.
